Article 2: Star Wars in the Rocket City: Inside the science of Episode VI with artificial gravity
In this article they described Star War's Space station death star and how it would be almost impossible to build one of that size. They say this because since there is no gravity there would have to be acceleration by this people moving not up and down but, every which way. They also talk about Princess leias costume and how it had a big piece of metal when she wasn't doing stunts and a rubber one when she was. She talked about how they had to film many scenes again for wardrobe malfunctions and also that her costar could see "all the way down to florida".
Summary of Article 1: Star Wars in the Rocket City: Inside the science of Episode V with spaceships and light speed travel
This article talks about the possibility of traveling at the speed f light, they conclude that it would be impossible considering the theory of relativity develpoed y Albert Einstein. This states that "one accelerates closer to the speed of light, one’s mass increases" -http://blog.al.com/entertainment-times/2010/06/star_wars_in_the_rocket_city_i_2.html. So that it can never reach the speed of light since its mass becomes inifinte so will the energy required to reach that speed. Only light and something that has no mass can reach that speed. Physicians say that even if something were to reach that speed the rockeeters would turn to mush. Then they start explaining how hyperspace drive would work which is from what I understand getting to one of two dimmensions quickly, they would sort of fold this space fabric to get you closer to your destination.
