We have all had our mid-school crisis, and this is a story about a girl named Brooke, dealing with her very own middle school problems.( mid-school crisis) .
The goddess of truth, Alethia looked down from the heavens to Deerpath, jr. high; seeing all the students and teachers. A beautiful blonde, green eyed girl caught her eye. It was Brooke, her olive skin glowed in the sunlight and her smile could give even the toughest guys butterflies. Brooke was one of the most popular girls in the seventh grade. Alethia spotted another girl with her, she had an enchanting gaze as though she were taken out of a fairy tale. Jackie who could get away with not brushing her dark brown hair or washing her porcelain colored face. Was Brooke’s best friend. Both of them had been best friends since Little Scouts Daycare.
Later that night after Brooke had come home from school, she did the only thing she did at night; think about Jackie’s boyfriend Zack. Both, Jackie and Brooke had crushes on him when they were younger. Brooke had backed off years ago. Since Jackie and Zack began dating Brooke had felt a lingering spark when she was with him.
Alethia looked down from the heavens ashamed. She felt that Brooke should be honest with Jackie and tell her how she feels. So that night, Alethia told the messenger of the gods Heremes, to send a bouquet of roses to Brooke’s home. Brooke came home late that day, after loosing her diary which contained her darkest secret.(That she was secretly in love with her best friend’s boy). As she went to the kitchen for a snack something caught her eye. Roses, each of which had bloomed to perfection. As she was admiring them, she felt a piercing pain her finger. A small drop of blood ran down her hand and fell on the floor. Brooke put her finger to her mouth, then something strange happened.
Her finger began changing from red to blue to purple to green!  Alethia cackled with delight, seeing Brooke’s face stricken with fright. Brooke scrambled to the sink to wash her finger, but nothing seemed to change. By now it had become a rainbow of glowing colors. She began to rub her eyes until her eyelashes began to fall out. Seeing if maybe she was imagining it all. Brooke ran towards her mom’s room but, she was no where to be found.
With nothing left to do Brooke wandered into her room. She was about to lie on her bed when she saw a small piece of paper folded on her night stand. Curious to know what it was she quickly grabbed it and written on it in gold letters was; Truth fears no questions. At the Bottom the goddess had signed A.
That night Brooke lay wide awake bewildered by the message on the paper, she kept looking at it to see if an explanation would come to her. All the lingering questions kept her awake. She finally decided to call Jackie. Knowing that Jackie went to sleep after Gossip Girl which was at 12 a.m. she answered her phone. Brooke began to tell her everything, Jackie hadn’t gotten angry and had confessed to having suspicions. They both decided that neither of them was going to date Zack. They realized that their friendship and being honest with each other was much more important.
Eventually she fell into a deep sleep. Brooke was suddenly awoken by a bright light. When she opened her eyes the goddess of truth Alethia was before her. Frightened, Brooke let out a scream but, no sound came out. Alethia began to tell her how proud she was of her for being honest with herself and with others. At that moment Brooke understood the message on paper. That when she tells and confronts the truth, she will not be afraid of anything or anyone. When Brooke looked down at her hand her finger was back to normal. Alethia had disappeared but her words of wisdom remained forever in Brooke’s mind.
